Welcome back to our WPS families, both old and new, for another exciting school year!!

For those who don’t know me, my name is Susan Machell, and I look after the wonderful books in our awesome Library! I can’t wait to get to know all of our new students, especially our new Preps who are are just starting their school journey, and those who are “old hats” at this school thing!!

Library sessions are each week and they will be starting in week three.  Students are able to borrow books for two weeks before they are considered overdue, but they can always re-borrow to extend their time, unless it is a new book. We encourage all students to borrow each week, and to return those they have read at their weekly sessions.  Books can be returned anytime as I do have a pink tub that sits just outside the library where books can be dropped off. At this year’s sessions, we are really going to be cracking down on overdue books. If students have books that are more than two weeks overdue, they will not be allowed to borrow until they are returned.  Please speak to me if there are any issues involving the non-return of any outstanding books.

We are starting back a little later this year as we are having some new shelving installed, that will take a few days to sort out once they are erected.  It will go from this…

Well….something like it anyway, that will look just as impressive I’m sure. It is quite exciting, because it means more room for more books! Yay!!

Scholastic Book Club catalogues will be distributed next week. The last day for orders to be delivered to the school is 17th Feb.
