Principal's Report

with Simone Roy

Another school year has started fairly smoothly and with a number of new things around the school! We had painting and carpeting renovations in the corridor to finish off the works that fixed the roof last year, as well as carpeting Room 9 and 12. The basketball courts were mostly repainted, and one of these has been converted into a dedicated netball court, but due to conditions on the day, will need to be finished off at a later date.

It was great to see the majority of students correctly wearing full school uniform. It makes me so proud to see our students in the updated uniform, representatives of our school and looking so smart, compared to only just a few years ago, when there was not a logo to be seen, making it impossible to know what school they were from. Uniform can be purchased from Mount Beauty Hardware and Drapery, and we will be starting to contact home next week for those students that are still having trouble finding plain black shoes and plain black or white socks to wear to school.

As a Sun Smart school, students are expected to wear a broad brimmed hat when they go outside in Term 1 and 4. It does not have to be a school bucket hat, but it must have a brim all the way around. Caps are not allowed to be worn at school, so students should just leave them at home. Bringing a water bottle (not glass) to school is also recommended in this hotter weather.

House Swimming Sports are on Thursday 16th February. All welcome to attend; and if you would like to volunteer, please contact Jenny Farrington at the school.
