Junior School News

What's happening in Years 7, 8 and 9.

Welcome to Junior School

We would like to extend a warm welcome to all new and returning families to our wonderful school community. We hope that you had a restful and enjoyable summer break and are ready to dive into another exciting year of learning, growth and fun.

Our Year 7 students are busy getting used to their new lives as Glenroy College students. With canteen lines to negotiate, class timetables and teachers' names to learn, and locker codes and bell times to remember, there's a lot to get used to.

It's a very big learning curve, but every student is handling the step-up from primary school with enthusiasm and excitement. Here's a little snapshot of their first weeks at Glenroy College.

Year 7 camp coming soon

We are excited to announce that the Year 7 Camp to Phillip Island is just around the corner. It is set for 1 March to 3 March  and is a wonderful opportunity for students to get to know their classmates and teachers away from the routines of the classroom, to engage in team-building activities, and to make lasting memories. It also helps foster independence and maturity in our youngest students - skills that are crucial as they begin to navigate life as young adults. More information about two-night camp will come home soon. We hope that all of our Year 7 students are looking forward to this event as much as we are.

Be ready to learn

We would also like to remind students that being punctual and prepared is important for success at school. This means arriving at school with enough time to be in class by 9am in the correct uniform and with the right books and equipment. This helps to create a positive learning environment and ensures that every student makes the most of their time in the classroom.

As we approach student assessments, we want to remind students that hard work and dedication are key to achieving good results on their upcoming interim reports. We encourage all of our students to try their best and seek help if they need it. Our teachers and staff are always available to support our students and help them reach their full potential.

We hope that you all have a fantastic term ahead and look forward to seeing what our students will achieve this year.
