Beginning the year with a BANG!

Our 2020 school year started with 3 days of ‘Getting to Know You’ games and setting up expectation for the year to ensure we can all succeed. Members of Coral 2 Community engaged in activities’ such as team building, developing classroom norms, building relationships, learning about bucket filling and warm fuzzies and developing our growth mindset. Students had the opportunity to meet other students that they previously haven’t worked with and get to know their teachers as well as the teachers getting to know them.

During week 2 Heather and Ainsley had the opportunity to meet and greet with our parents/carers. Thanks to all of those who were able to book in a session to come and meet the teachers. Having strong home school partnerships is important in ensuring all students can succeed in their education. 

If you didn’t get a chance to come and meet either Heather or Ainsley please contact one of us via compass and book in a meet and greet.

Our first Whole School Assembly on Friday in Week 2 saw our first two Student Achievement award winners. Congratulations to Ashley Wright and Stephen Dutkovich. As well as all of the Coral 2 students who are apart of Student Leadership as they found out their Student Leadership positions. 

The 5/6 cohort also began their Interschool Sport in Week 2. Students were able to choose from a range of sports including Volley stars, Basketball, Tee ball, Hot Shots Tennis and Cricket. We are looking forward to our first match against Bellbridge Primary School at the end of Week 4.

Important reminders:

Each Monday students will receive a home learning sheet in their Homework Book. This will have Numeracy activities, a spelling activity and a Writing task (Passion Project). Students are also expected to read for 20 minutes x 5 nights each week and record this in their diary. This needs to be signed by a parent and will be checked as part of the home learning on Mondays.

The Coral 2 students have had an amazing start to the year, and we can’t wait to watch them grow and develop in their learning.
