Engineering Immersion Day

As part of a wider Engineering Program for the Region, Training Services NSW and a number of engineering businesses in Griffith hosted an Immersion Day on the 11th of September.

The students attended four workplaces Collier & Miller, Casella Family Wines, Flowsmart and A & G Engineering from the engineering sector that complete various different types of engineering work, .

It was amazing to see the large scale engineering innovation that resides here in Griffith. The attending students all hope to work in the industry post-school as apprentices, or during school as school-based apprentices. The next stage of the Engineering Program, will be carried out through term four this year, and is an opportunity for students to attend accredited engineering training one day a week, and rotational work experience another day a week. This will follow the apprenticeship model and will allow students to get a feel for the work and its requirements. Another fantastic way to assist our students into making choices for their future.
