Year 8 News

Survivor Day!

Today Year 8 celebrated "Survivor Day". This ia a community bonding day which helps the year group by putting them through their paces in a series of team activities which encourage communication, teamwork and creativity.

This year we were incredibly fortunate, with the temperature being perfect and the Griffith Community Gardens providing a fabulous atmosphere for our day.

A day like Survivor Day requires a lot of support, so I would like to thank Mrs Segrave and Mr Neville for their assistance in organising the day. A big thanks to the staff from thr GRALC - Viv, Ang, Billa, Jordan, Donna and Vanessa - for facilitating the day and preparing the activities for the students.

My deepest gratitude to my Homeroon team - Mr Mason, Ms Olsen, Miss Polimeni and Miss Cameron, Ms Randolph, Mr Parmenter and Mr Keady. I always say that you get out of a community day what you put in, and the teachers so were enthusiastic - this was reflected in the attitude of the students.

And finally my thanks to the Year 8 students. Your involvement, keenness and competitive spirit is the reason days like this are so valuable.

I am so very proud of you.
