Magis

The Magis Awards Presentation and Opening of the Personal Projects display will be held on Wednesday week, 24 October.  To streamline the process as there are many awards to present,  this term the complete event will take place in the College Library from 7.30-8.50am. Light breakfast refreshments including muffins, fruit juice and tea and coffee will be available for all to enjoy whilst perusing the 33 personal projects on display.  Other students will be invited to see the Exhibition at recess and lunchtime on the Wednesday.  An Invitation flyer has been emailed to all students receiving Magis awards or displaying projects.

All Magis and Altiora students have been directed to the Magis Flyer highlighting two superb gifted and talented program opportunities coming up soon – the Quest Competition at UWA on 12 and 13 November, and Notre Dame’s superb Cultural Decoding program in later January.  Further information is available from the Magis office.

The World Scholars team is preparing for the Tournament of Champions at Yale University in Connecticut, USA next month. Other highlights of the tour will also include visits to Boston, New York, and Harvard University.

Best wishes to all Year 12 students completing their final year of school this week, and special thanks to those who gave such great leadership in assisting to develop the Magis program this year, in particular Magis Scholar Bella Spiro-Harrison, Magis committee members Amelia MacMillan and Roberto Vitali-Lawn, Kinia O’Brien, Hannah Flavell and Callan Brogan. These six  students are pictured at Curtin University where they were the WA Creative Edge Champions for 2018.  All together over 20 Year 12’s participated in the new Magis challenges and events, and their fine example was critical to the success of the program.
