It has been a fantastic fortnight with much to celebrate in the Music Department.

3MBS FREEMASONS VICTORIA YOUNG PERFORMER AWARD WINNER

Congratulations to Will Hardy (Year 12) who won both the major prize and the audience choice award for his performance at the 3MBS Freemasons Victoria Young Performer Award on Sunday 21 October. It was an outstanding performance to have heard.

BIG DAY OUT

Congratulations to the 70 enthusiastic Ovenden and Junior Stage Band students who took part in the Big Day Out on Thursday 25 October. The day tour took in Clayton South Primary School, Valkstone Primary School and McKinnon Primary School. Reports back from the primary schools indicated a high level of musicianship and excellent leadership from all students involved. Thank you to Ms Tracy Videon and Mr Dmitry Serebrianik for their organisation of the day and the development of these two ensembles, and to Mr Martin West for attending the day.

PERCUSSION NIGHT

Friday 26 October saw a fantastic Percussion Night in the Auditorium. The standard of playing was incredibly high and demonstrated the ongoing musical development of all the students.
