Aboriginal Education

NAIDOC Week

Week 2 saw us honour NAIDOC Week with a day of activities across the school. Students and staff reflected on the theme Voice, Treaty, Truth and what this means to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Peoples and the wider Australia.

We had so much fun learning traditional Aboriginal games and the reason behind them. Cultural games were played to teach knowledge and skills with elders observing those who looked, listened and showed humbleness.

A big thank you to our deadly senior students from The Entrance Campus who ran activities and shared knowledge, even setting up a face paint and hair station at break!

Congratulations to those students selected from each class who won the MALIGA jumpers and shirts for showing respect and the quality of being humble.

The jumpers/shirts are designed by Berkeley Vale Campus and The Entrance Campus students with their banners being flown along the Entrance Rd.

At BAPS our staff respect and acknowledge the importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and perspectives. Have a look at our artwork reflecting our journey of inclusiveness acknowledging our steps toward Voice Treaty, Truth.
