R U OK? Day

R U OK? Day

On Friday 14th September, the Year 9 student leaders showed their support for the R U OK? Organisation by running ‘R U OK? Day’.

R U OK? Day is a national day of action dedicated to reminding everyone that any day is the day to ask, “Are you ok?” and support those struggling with life. The day is about inspiring people to start these conversations every day of the year, and to look out for our friends.

During lunchtime, the school was awash with yellow as the Year 9 student leaders held a carnival to raise money and awareness for the R U OK? Foundation. With a range of food and activities available outside the M.P.C, including hot chips, a BBQ, and a raffle, the students raised a large amount of money for ‘R U OK?’ through proceeds from the stalls.

For entertainment on the day, students from our music department performed. Students could take part in the day by taking a picture with the photo board, posting a positive message, creating a chalk drawing, or using the Snapchat filter.

The day was hugely successful thanks to the organization of the Year 9 student leaders, the enthusiasm of the student body, and the support of the Rosehill staff.

We extend our gratitude to Hoffman’s Fish & Chips, Bunnings, and Sunbury Donut King for their generous donations, to all the staff and students that helped out on the day, and to Mr William Stubbings for all his support in making the day a success.

Congratulations to student leaders Ada Sengul, Emily Baker, Jake Tosto, Anastasia Apostolovska, Charlotte Salter, Alysha Banner, and Shasha Ghalhshovand for the huge amount of work they have put in this term to organise such a fantastic day!
