Prep K
Miss Cruz visited our classroom during Book Week to share with us her passion for poetry.
We also created some acrostic poems of our own.

Year 2 try their hand at Outdoor Learning
On Thursday the 15th of August, Grade 2 began the project of making an outdoor classroom as part of their Integrated Studies subject. The subject required them to create a place of significance and they decided between themselves what better than to create a place where we could sit and learn together outside.
So they began with shovels, wheel barrows and their own hands to make garden beds out of used tyres, soil and rocks selected from around the property.
As the research behind ‘outdoor learning’ in schools suggests that this method of teaching increases student engagement, so was the case for the year 2's as they all worked diligently designing, digging, collecting and creating in this whole class project.
We are very excited about continuing this project and deepening our learning in integrated studies.

Performing Arts
Performing Arts this term at WCC has been a wonderful time of fun and creative classes. The students have been learning how to improvise as well as follow scripts and choreographed movements. They have been working in small groups to design dance and drama and then perform to their peers. They have been learning to respond to feedback, experiment with and refine their performance skills. We’ve been having a lot of fun exploring everything from mime to freeze frames to using a variety of fabrics, props and puppets.
I love the way the students come to each class with such enthusiasm and delight in learning the subject – the lessons go so fast and the students always want just a little longer!
