From the Assistant Principals

Bike Safety

As the weather hopefully improves a little, there may be more students choosing to ride their bikes, scooters or skateboards to and from school. It is great to see students being active on their way to school, but students and parents are reminded that all those choosing to ride or scoot to school must wear appropriate safety gear, and adhere to road rules. Sadly, there have been reports from the school community that some students are not following road rules, and are riding irresponsibly in the mornings, particularly around Melview Drive. Please ensure that students have a properly fitting helmet, and know the safest route to and from school. Students are so lucky to experience Bike Ed from Grade 3 at RNPS, so it would be great to see them putting these skills into practice.

Hats

From next week, students will need to have their sun smart hats at school to wear while outside. Although the weather is still a little gloomy, it is important that all students have their hats ready to wear.

Positive Education Parent Workshop

I'm excited to announce that the next Positive Education Parent workshop will be held at school (in the staffroom) on Friday 13th of September at 9:15am. The first of these sessions were held last term and had a great response from those who were able to attend.  This will also be the next date for Connect Groups.
