From our Principal
Welcome to our new online newsletter. Over the coming weeks we will be using this new format to share with you the wonderful things that are happening at our school. We will continue to provide a condensed printed copy of the newsletter as we transition to this new format.
Thank you to the parents and friends who provided us feedback on the newsletter format and production. We value this and invite any families who haven't completed the survey to do so using the link below.
Please take the opportunity to subscribe to the online newsletter and it will be automatically e-mailed to you each time it is published.
We have moved to this new format for a number of reasons. Your feedback has indicated that you value the photos of your children and the celebration of achievements of all students. The online format will allow us to have even more photos and vidoes of the students and will automatically resize for iphones, android, ipads etc to allow for ease of reading and viewing.
We look forward to sharing our photos and videos of our NAIDOC Week and Book Week Celebrations with you next week!

Burkie Mascot
Burke Ward PS are searching for an animal to be their new Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) Burkie Mascot. We are looking for an animal which will represent our school values Respect, Responsibility and Honesty while wearing our school colours red, black and white.
This search will be completed in stages. Stage 1 is to find the perfect animal! We will then have this animal transformed into a cartoon image wearing different outfits in our school colours for you to vote from. The final stage will be finding the right name for our new Burkie Mascot.
