Assistant Principal's

What a great first week it’s been as Assistant Principal at Fitzroy North Primary! Thank you to everyone who’s helped make me feel so welcome over my first few days, from the wonderful staff to the friendly and curious students, as well as the parents and carers I’ve met so far. I’ve already had a chance to see students deeply engaged in their classroom learning, staff and parents in action preparing for fundraising events, and been a part of discussions about the impending build.

A little background about myself. Before starting at Fitzroy North Primary I worked nearby at Spensley Street Primary in Clifton Hill as a Learning Specialist, where I led the maths curriculum and supported staff and students during the challenges of the last couple of years. I’ve been working in schools for twelve years, including roles at Bell Primary in Preston and international schools in Bangkok.

I’m passionate about child-centered learning and providing children with challenging, engaging learning experiences, with a particular interest in mathematics. In addition to my work in schools, I’ve worked in the education research space, exploring maths games and problem solving.

It’s an exciting time for to be starting at Fitzroy North Primary and I’m looking forward to working with staff to continue to build on our school’s existing strengths. Feel free to say hi if you see me in the playground before or after school.
