VCAL UPDATE

The VCAL classes have both been busy. The Year 11 class have continued their work on the BBQ area improvements, replacing broken timbers on the tables and seats, and removing sharp edges from around the seats. They have also built the formwork ready to concrete the new base for our Pizza Oven.

The Year 12 class has finished making a pair of raised garden beds and renovating a garden seat for our local Community Garden.

We have also been busy planning and preparing to make coffees at school. We visited The Café Rochester to see the inner workings of a coffee shop and the staff and customers were all so helpful to our student learning about customer service and their coffee machine.  Organising a local coffee van to visit the school to give us some one to one tuition on coffee making. The students were very enthusiastic after this session and practiced their new skills on our machine before completing a review of the morning’s activities.
