Week 9 Term 1 2022

Dear Parents and Carers

Not sure where the term has gone!!!!! For me its hard to believe there is only one more week before the end of Term 1.

Easter Reenactment

Our whole school Easter Reenactment will be held on Friday 8th April at 11.30am in amphithreatre area .  Parents are welcome to join us. Just a reminder that parents need to be double vaccinated to attend. It would be great to have as many parents there as possible.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Jacqueline who represented St Bede's at the Eastern Metro Regional swimmign championships. Jacqueline  finished 2nd and achieved her personal PB time of 43.54. We are all very proud of her.

Prep Welcome Mass.

This Saturday evening at 6.00pm the Prep families are invited to attend the welcome mass for 2022. This is an opportunity for our parishioners to welcome our Prep children to St Bede's. There will be hospitality following the mass.

COVID update.

There are still a number of students testing positive for COVID on a weekly basis. I ask that you continue to test twice weekly.  If you haven't collected your RATS from the office please do so or contact the office to have them sent home with your child. A reminder that masks need to be worn indoors if you are a parent entering the school. As a community we have done well up to week 9, lets make it all 10 weeks.

Reconciliation

Please keep our Yr 3s in your thoughts and prayers as they celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation next week.

Running Club

Running club is held every Friday morning at 8.00am at Myrtle Park.

Staffing News

As our community is aware Ms Kahli Schroder will be taking maternity leave for the remainder of the 2022 school year.  Kristina Ferentinos will be returning to replace Kahli in Yr 3/4. We wish Kahli  and her partner all the best as they enter  a new phase in their lives.

Kahli is  currently both our Literacy and Wellbeing Leader.  During her maternity leave Mr Justin McFarlane will take on the role of Wellbeing leader and Ms Arianna Chor will take on the role of Literacy Leader.  Both Arianna and Justin will be released every second Friday to fulfil their leadership roles. Frieda Mallis will be in their classrooms on a Friday.

James Carbines is taking paternity leave starting next week.  James will return to work on the week starting the 16 May.  Mrs Danni Anderson will be the teacher during this time. Danni will work closely with the rest of the Yr 3/4 team to ensure continuity of the educational program.  We wish James and his wife all the best as they enter a new exciting  phase in their lives.

This week Mrs Marnie Fitz joined our staff  to work across the school. We have used the tutoring money allocated by the government to employ Marnie.

Just a reminder that Term 1 finishes at 1.10pm on April 8th.

Have a great week

Brian
