Fr Bernie's 70th
Fr Bernie's 70th Birthday Morning Tea
WHEN: Sunday 23rd March, after the 10am Mass
WHO: ALL ARE INVITED
WHERE: Sacred Heart School Hall.
DETAILS:
· Sacred Heart Parish, Schools and friends are invited to come to 10am Mass on Sunday 23rd March (in 2 weeks) to celebrate our favourite (and only) Parish Priest Fr Bernie's 70th Birthday.
· It will be a day of celebration with some families also celebrating their children's baptism, and we would love to have a good turn-out to honour Fr Bernie, and, in the true sense of our Parish Prayer, "To show a welcoming spirit to all."
· For catering purposes, we will have a list in the church foyer asking for people who can bring a plate, to write their names down and their chosen plate...so we can minimise double-ups and also bring in extra food if necessary.
· It is a warm invitation to the whole Parish, from all Masses, to come for a hour or so, to celebrate and have a cuppa and something lovely to eat, and help Fr Bernie blow out his candles, so please come one and all.
And besides, who doesn't love parties?
There will be a card there on the day, so you can write your wishes to this cherished man for him to read later.
If celebrating during Lent is a problem...or not having some of the party food, you could either have an extra day outside of Lent...and/or contribute to Project Compassion...where the poorest of the poor desperately need your money. So a WIN-WIN.
HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

Music for Mates
Music 4 Mates is an event presented by the Coolamon Lions Club that will be held at Coolamon Sports and Recreation on Saturday 22nd 2014 from 2pm-10pm. It has been organised in response to the prevalence of suicide, particularly youth suicide, in our local communities. The aim is to raise awareness about issues that can lead to suicide and identify strategies to prevent it. Music 4 Mates is an all ages event with a range of activities to entertain all members of the family. Kaarin Edyvean, a teacher who has worked at MDCC on a casual basis in 2013 and 2014, is the Music 4 Mates organiser and can be contacted via the details on the poster for further information. It would be great to have members of our community support this important event.
