Unit of Work

Our Unit of Work will be a Science unit, “Survive and Thrive Together” where we will be investigating what animals and plants need in their habitat to survive and our impact on their survival. This will involve planting and using Science Inquiry Skills to make predictions, record observations and process the information. We are fortunate to have some incursions planned involving our topic.

What we expect the students to learn:

  • Living things have needs.
  • Describe how different places meet the needs of living things
  • Explore what happens when habitats change and some living things can no longer have their needs met (our impact)
  • Develop an understanding and apply the Science Inquiry Skills

During the term, we will also continue to implement the Zones of Regulation in our classes. Students will be thinking about their emotions by monitoring what zone they are in and what strategies they can implement to help regulate their feelings.
