Physical Education

It has been a busy last 2 weeks of term in PE and Sport at Kingswood. On Friday the 25th of March Kingswood held our Cross Country Carnival for years 3-6. Year 3s got to experience for the first time what the cross country entailed and was great practice for them for next year when they can compete to make the Kingswood Cross Country Team. It was a great day full of excitement and it was amazing to see all students get involved and push themselves past their comfort zones. We had some great results and I would like to congratulate the following students on making the Kingswood Cross Country Team where they will compete next term at District.

In Inter-School Sport, the year 6 Mixed Softball and Rounders teams competed in their District Finals on Friday the 1st of April. Both teams competed very hard and showed great sportsmanship during their matches. Mixed Softball placed 2nd to St Brigids with a score of 9-14 and Rounders also came 2nd to Parkdale with a score of 7-33.

I would like to also congratulate Xavier D in year 4 on an amazing achievement in participating in the Run for Kids event on Sunday the 3rd of April. This event supports the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. Xavier ran 15kms in just over an hour and 26 minutes which is an amazing pace for that distance, keeping to a pace of under 6 minutes per kilometer. Well done Xavier for running for such a great cause!
