Year Two News

Billie from 2CB is one smart cookie and is trying to bake the world a better place. Last week, Billie led around 50 Year Two students, and their parents, through a cooking class to create chocolate chip cookies. It was certainly an experience to never forget! Let’s bake this happen more often!

 

Recipe from the executive chef:

 

 - Turn oven on to 160 degrees

 - Need a mixer and whisk or fork

 - Check ingredients

 

Ingredients:

125g              butter, softened

½ cup            brown sugar

⅓ cup            caster sugar

1                     egg

1 teaspoon  vanilla

1½ cups        self raising flour

¾ cup            choc chips

 

Method:

1.   Add 125g butter (softened), half cup of brown sugar and one third of a cup of caster sugar in a bowl

2.   Mix with beater until creamy

3.   Add egg and teaspoon of vanilla, mix with whisk or fork

4.   Stir in one and a half cups of self-raising flour

5.   Add choc chips

6.   Place teaspoonful of mixture on baking tray

7.   Cook for 10-15 mins

8.   Cool on wire rack

9.   Eat
