RURAL CHANCES 

Rural Chances can help if you:

  • Have to travel long distances or move away from home to gain qualifications, or
  • Struggle with the many expenses associated with training and building your skills, and
  • Want to fill a skills gap in rural Victoria, and
  • Would like mentoring and networking opportunities.

Applications for Rural Chances Scholarships open in Term 3 and close on October 18. Rural Chances Vocational Scholarships – “We know there are many great young rural Victorians looking for work or opportunities to train further and build their skills. We also know there are often many barriers to achieving these goals. To address these issues, Youthrive Victoria and its supporters have created Rural Chances Scholarships.”

VTAC – What scholarships are available when I apply through VTAC?

This table lists the scholarships that you apply for automatically when completing the scholarship application in your VTAC account. 

  • To apply for those labelled 'Commonwealth' or 'Access/Equity' you must submit a VTAC scholarships application.
  • For most 'Merit' scholarships you will automatically be considered when you complete your VTAC course application.
  • Check with University website for listing of any possible additional scholarships available that need to be applied separately to the VTAC process.

ACU

Bachelor of Arts (Western Civilisation)

The Bachelor of Arts (Western Civilisation) provides students with a rigorous and stimulating intellectual program in which they engage with western philosophy, history, literature, politics, art and culture, and develop a deep understanding of the great works, ideas and movements within the western intellectual tradition in the core of the program. Students also take a major in one of Drama, English, History, Philosophy, Politics and International Relations, Psychology, Sociology, Theological Studies, or Visual Arts.  The degree fosters skills that prepare students for leadership roles in the private and public sectors including government, business, social enterprise and the Arts.

 

ACU is offering 30 scholarships to students undertaking this degree, funded by the Ramsay Centre, each valued at up to $90,000 ($30,000 per year of the degree).  Students eligible for scholarship will be selected by a committee, comprising senior ACU and Ramsay Centre staff.
