VCE/VET/VCAL INFORMATION

This holiday period is an important time for the students studying a Unit 3 and 4 sequence in preparing themselves for the upcoming exam period.  Please ensure you give yourselves the opportunity to recharge after a lengthy remote learning period.  I look forward to your return on October 7 for the GAT.  Please do your best in completing tasks set by your teachers to ensure optimal preparation for your final weeks of secondary school.

Year 12 students, please ensure you have read the resources and opportunities provided in the latest Careers Newsletter and also past editions.  Important information regarding the next few weeks appears below.

GAT REVISION SESSION FEEDBACK

Remember Mr Emmet Brown will correct the English component of the GAT for student feedback if submitted by October 25.  Please email Mr Brown as a courtesy to let him know your paper is there for collection whilst we are on school holidays.

GAT PACK COLLECTION

Last week students received their GAT Pack following Essential Assessment - English SAC (Year 12) or from with the reception (Year 11).  If you did not collect your pack, it will be sent via the post this week.  Please ensure that you keep the contents of this package in a safe place and that you have read its contents.  If you have any concerns please email myself or Miss Eliza Weaver.

OCTOBER 8 - PRACTISE EXAMS/VCAL ESSENTIAL ASSESSMENT - NO YEAR 12 CLASSES

Year 12 students will receive a letter this week regarding logistics for the upcoming practice exams for English, Further and Specialist Mathematics which will occur on October 8.

This is an invaluable opportunity for students to sit a practice exam with external supervisors under the same conditions as the end of the year exam period.  Students can gauge their understanding of content taught over the duration of the year and receive feedback heading into the final weeks of the school term.  The college will provide lunch on this day between the practice exams.

VTAC/SATAC KEY DATES LETTER

This week students who have applied to VTAC/SATAC will be sent a reminder letter detailing key dates for these admission centres.  Please ensure you have fulfilled individual requirements including application fee payment and COVID-19 Special Entry Access Scheme Category.

FLINDERS UNIVERSITY TEST

Confirmed arrangements for the Flinders UniTest is October 20 at 2.00pm.  This exam duration is three hours.  Students who have expressed interest will receive college correspondence with further information.  If students are interested in this pathway, please contact Ms Fiona Dimasi as soon as possible.

SAC ALTERNATE ARRANGEMENT

In the second week of the holidays, students will receive email notification regarding outstanding SACs that need to be completed upon return to the college.  Students should have completed their SAC alternate arrangements documents with accompanying evidence and emailed these to Miss Eliza Weaver and myself.  Please ensure you have completed this link.
