Junior School Council News

Our Juniors School Council members have been hard at work with their creative hats on this past week.

The initiatives below are listed as community actions from our most recent JSC meeting:

Thursday 22nd October- Sporting/Hobbies & Personal Passions Dress-Up Day

As you would be aware, Friday 23rd October is a Victorian Public Holiday, linked to the AFL Grand Final. Therefore our JSC voted to hold a "Sporting/Hobbies and Personal Passions Dress-Up Day" in lieu of our school's traditional footy day. On Thursday 22nd October students may wear clothing which reflects their sporting/hobbies/personal passions. There is a free event.

Birthday Celebrations Free-Dress

At our school, students may wear free-dress on their birthday. JSC identified that many students who had a birthday during Remote Learning missed out on this opportunity. Therefore, on the dates below, any student who celebrated a birthday during Remote Learning may wear free-dress to school:

  • Foundation students: Wed 21/10/2020
  • Year One students: Fri 16/10/2020
  • Year Two students: Tue 20/10/2020
  • Year Three/Four students: Tue 27/10/2020
  • Year Five/Six students: Mon 26/10/2020

Master Plan Development

Following on from three years of extremely successful facilities and curriculum upgrades across our school, School Council are now commencing the process of formulating a new Master Plan for the school.

This Master Plan will help to direct future school funds over the coming years, it will support the remaining goals of our current School Strategic Plan, and help to drive our school's formal review which is due to occur in early 2022.

A Working Party consisting of School Council members and staff, is currently finalising a survey which will shortly be distributed to families asking for your input as to how you would like to see locally raised funds (eg: PTA funding, voluntary contributions) support our Master Plan.

Fruit and Vegetable Fundraiser

It has been a rewarding experience to see the positive uptake of our school's Fruit and Vegetable offer over the first three weeks of Term 4.

We have had many families take the opportunity to order these boxes over the last three weeks. It has certainly proven to be a service which has been able to meet the current needs of our community.
