Music Tuition at OLA in 2019

In addition to their weekly class music lesson, our students have the opportunity to take instrumental tuition in a number of instruments at OLA, and this is funded directly by the  families. In 2019, all tuition will be provided by Keyed Up Music, to ensure consistency regarding scheduling and administration. All tutors are music graduates, and have current Working with Children checks and police clearance.

Next year, music lessons will commence no earlier than 10.50, so that students do not miss core learning time in the morning. Keyed Up Music will also devise rotating timetables, so the students do not miss the same lesson each week. This means that the student’s lesson will be on the same day, but the actual time will change each week. The instruments offered in 2019 are: piano, violin, guitar and drums. For further information, please see the information circular.

Year 5 Singers at Graduation Mass

We extend a word of thanks to the Year 5 students who  came to sing at the Graduation Mass last Monday night. Your presence and participation really helped to enhance the ceremony. Thanks is also due to the parents and families who facilitated your attendance.

Carol Singing at Dianella Plaza

We were invited to send some students to sing carols at Dianella Plaza on Monday. As our Years 5 and 6 students were busy with the Graduation Mass, we nominated 36 students from Year 4 to perform at the Plaza. The  children sang a selection of Christmas carols and songs, and also played a number of tunes on their recorders and xylophones. A large gathering of parents, friends and passers-by enjoyed our performance, and the students received a very enthusiastic response from the audience. Well done to all the students that took part.
