transformed to be free

“Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you and how he has had mercy on you.”

In chapel last week, a group of young people took on the challenge of sharing a Bible story that is often overlooked because it is very hard for contemporary people to understand. Thus, from the perspective of a news team, they travelled to the scene of an incredible healing which ended in the words above spoken by the Saviour of the world who has more power than anything seen or unseen.

The news team interviewed one of the disciples who seemed to be shocked that someone had power over wind, waves and the spiritual world.

They interviewed the townspeople who struggled with being merciful to the man who had suffered. They went so far as to try and get him out of their presence by chaining him in the tombs.

The pig herders were next. They lost their jobs because the pigs died when they were driven off a cliff by the evil spirits.

And finally, the news reporter, Jacqueline Awesome, asked the man how his life had been transformed by the Lord and by his mercy.

Isn’t this the story for all of us? In all the difficulties, the struggles, the pain and the fear embedded in our present world, it is the power of Jesus which frees us from the chains of those difficulties.

I hope that in whatever you are dealing with, you can hear Jesus’ merciful words.
