Welcome back!

I'm so excited to have the students back in the classroom this week :) Today the Year 1/2's have been exploring Drawing Machines.

Drawing Machines

In Art today, the students learned about drawing machines. Did you know drawing machines are more than 600 years old?

A drawing machine is an any device or apparatus that either draws for, or helps a person draw.

Today the students created their own drawing machine - a spinning top made from a texta and a CD. They then explored using their new drawing machines and collaborated on artworks that use squiggly lines made only by a spinning top.

Looking Ahead...

For the rest of the term, every year level will focus on art concepts from Aboriginal culture.

The Foundation students are thinking about how music can affect the way we feel when we make art. The Year 1/2 students are doing printmaking inspired by X-Ray art from Arnhem Land. The 3/4 students are making clay dogs. The 5/6 students are building box totem poles.
