Welcome
Dear members of the St Raphael’s school community,
A warm welcome back to all of our children this week! It is so wonderful to see the learning spaces, corridors and playground full of children and to see them so happy to be back at school.
Yesterday we welcomed our Foundation - Year 2 children back to school and we look forward to seeing our Year 3 - 6 children tomorrow. It has been an incredibly challenging time for all and the staff have reflected on how you have been so supportive of the children and the teachers to ensure that the children’s learning has continued. We are so grateful to have had your support.
As a staff, we have committed to making this term the most memorable and enjoyable time at school for all of the children. We hope that they will look back on this time as one of the happiest times that they experience at school. As a staff, we have been working with Catholic Education Melbourne Student Wellbeing experts on many initiatives to assist the children with reconnecting with their peers and teachers. It has been a traumatic time for many of them and we want them to feel a sense of belonging and enjoyment.
As you would appreciate, there is still much uncertainty around the future and what we will be able to offer the children for the remainder of the year. We ask for your continued patience and support as we may have to change our plans quickly to adapt to any changes. In line with Worksafe Victoria, our school does have a COVID Safe Plan in place and we may have to enact certain measures, if required.
For now, it is just great to have the children back at school and we look forward to a fun-filled final term of 2020.
