Principal's Message
Principal's Message
Occurred last Friday. It was a day which was well organized by our College Leaders. Significant time and planning goes into the day’s organization. Can I thank the Year 12 class and the College Leaders for their commitment and dedication. To all students, your engagement and involvement in the day was excellent. It was good to see how the older brothers looked after their younger brothers. Guiding Principle, No 2 certainly was being put into action on the day.
While the walk and activities are special to St Bede’s College, the prime task of the day is to raise funds for our three overseas projects. These are:
The College has been supporting these projects for some six years so the valuable contribution we make is observable.
The College Leaders have set the target for this year at $100,000+. In 2016 we raised $93,000.
It is important that over these weeks each student makes the effort to collect the monies promised and bring that into the College. The last day for receiving all monies is 28 April.
In planning to raise the targeted amount the average contribution for each family is $65.
Your support and generosity is appreciated. The College has very few other fund raising activities and this is the prime one that we invite all families to support.
Guiding Principles; the College has 5 Guiding Principles and each student is given a card which has these principles outlined. It is important that these principles are known and acted on. In general, to ignore or break any of these principles is seen to be significant.
Uniform: As we commence Term 2 all students are required to wear the College winter uniform: College blazer, jumper and tie . On wet days there is a College rain jacket. All students need to ensure that they are well presented at the start of the term and follow the regulations regarding hair style.
Easter: The Easter Season in our Catholic tradition is central to our life as followers of Jesus. On behalf of the entire College community I would like to wish each family all the best for this special Christian festival.
The first day of Term 2 is Tuesday 18 April.
