DUKE OF EDINBURGH HIKE

Mornington Peninsula

On Monday 4 March, the Duke of Edinburgh students departed for their adventurous journey. The students were scheduled to hike around Wilsons Promontory for the week, however due to the bushfires, the group had to make alternative arrangements and instead ventured to the Mornington Peninsula.

The students participated in a surfing lesson on the first day which saw a number of big wipe outs and even bigger smiles.

The group then began their adventurous journey on the Tuesday, along the 26 kilometre Two Bays Walking Track, which is the longest continuous walking track on the Mornington Peninsula. The hike started at Cape Schanck and finished with a steep climb to Arthurs Seat. The views at Arthurs Seat were spectacular as the students were able to see most of Melbourne across Port Phillip Bay.

Special thanks to Andrew Rogers, Catherine Edwards and Sarah Meade for giving up their time and being fantastic support during the camp.
