TERM 4
World Challenge
On Friday, our intrepid World Challenge participants returned from their trek in Laos and Vietnam following a wonderful, and at times, demanding trip.
Often students on World Challenge are faced with situations that take them well out of their comfort zone, and in dealing with the challenges, they return as more resilient and reflective young people.
My thanks to Caitlin Marshall, Vi Nguyen, Tyler Phillips and Hayley Cook for ensuring that the students were cared for whilst being so far from their families and also giving up their own time to be part of the trip.
Thanks to the parents and guardians for your support.
Year 8 Camp
The Year 8 students finished the year with a 3 day camp to Anglesea where they participated in a range of outdoor and adventure activities.
Those who attended the second half of the week were faced with some unpleasant Melbourne weather conditions, however, despite this, they had a lot of fun and according to the staff, the students participated enthusiastically and were very well behaved.
Thank you to the Year 8 team for their organisation of the camp and to the staff who participated.
Valedictory Dinner
Our annual Valedictory Dinner was held at The Peninsula in Docklands, on Tuesday December 4th, with many awards being presented to our high achievers.
Congratulations to the student leadership team; Rocci Pitasi, James Laven, Ash Pope and Olivia Marceddo for their speeches that took us through their 6 years of secondary schooling, and to our Valedictorians, James Laven and Ashleigh Pope for the heartfelt speeches.
Congratulations also to our year 12 students who received their results last Friday.

Orientation Day
Our 2019 Year 7 students joined us on Tuesday December 11, for the annual Orientation Day. Students were able to meet with their teachers and classmates to engage in a range of activities and become familiar with their new school.
We welcome them and their families to our school community and look forward to a very successful association with Lilydale High.
Happy Holidays
I would like to wish all of our students and their families a very happy and safe holiday season.
For those leaving us, please go with our best wishes. To those returning, we look forward to seeing you in 2019, our centenary year!
