Cross-Country

On a frosty Thursday morning the Huntingdale Cross-Country Team bussed out to Nortons Park in Wantirna South to compete against eight other schools in the district. The children had been training at lunchtime on a Monday and a Wednesday, and were ready to go out there and pursue their personal best. All the children showed plenty of courage and bravery as they pushed themselves around the hilly 3km or 2km course depending on their age group. I was extremely proud of all our students as they represented H.P.S with great pride and gusto! Well done to all our competitors and good luck to the students who have progressed onto Division; where they will be running against the top runners from other districts around Monash. All of our runners should be very proud of themselves. A big thanks to all parents who came and supported and in particular to Jen Leffler for providing H.P.S with a tent to keep us dry!

The following students came in the top ten and will be progressing onto Division:

2016 BOOK FAIR

Our annual book fair was held during Education Week and was a great success.  Each year we are surprised by the success of our book fair.

This year our families raised over $1,500- in commission for our library.  Our teachers chose a large selection of books to add to our collection as well as some of the commission going towards purchasing equipment for the library.

Thank you to our families who “adopted a book” for our library.  We received a variety of titles, from picture story books to novels to non-fiction.  Congratulations to Jade from Grade 2 for winning our “adopt-a-book” competition.

A very big thank you goes to Mary Donohue, Naoko Moorjee, Miki Takebayashi and Noriko Ho for “manning” the fair before and after school  each day.  Without their help, we wouldn’t have been able to have such a successful  Book Fair.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Kai Adachi for being selected in the squad for the National Development Centre, which is a talent identification program run by the Football Federation of Victoria. All of H.P.S wishes Kai all the best for the selection process.
