FAVOURITE MEMORIES OF YOUR SCHOOL DAYS?
I went on the 2010 French trip over to France, so I would say that is a stand out for me! Whilst there, we did a host stay with a French family, which was an awesome experience. It still makes me smile thinking of some of the issues we encountered with the language barrier when our French skills weren’t yet quite up to scratch!
WHO WAS YOUR FAVOURITE TEACHER AND WHY?
I would say Miss Lodge, I had her for Science a few times throughout my secondary school years. She was always very approachable & bubbly, which made the class and content fun!
WHAT JOB OR COURSE ARE YOU DOING NOW?
In 2016 I completed a 4 -year degree: Bachelor of Health Sciences Master of Physiotherapy Practice. Since then I have been working as a Physiotherapist, currently based at the Geelong Hospital.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB OR COURSE?
I enjoy working with a very diverse range of people and helping them work towards their goals. No matter how big or small these goals may be, it is very rewarding seeing people improve and get back to doing the things they enjoy in life. Working with different clients every day means that everyday is different and interesting, which I love.
WHAT’S THE BEST ADVICE YOU COULD GIVE TO CURRENT STUDENTS?
Try to choose the subjects you enjoy doing in VCE, rather than what you think you should do, as it will make your time much easier and more enjoyable! There are always so many ways to get to where you want to be after you finish school, so try not to be too hard on yourself and just do the best you can and enjoy your final high school years!
