"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. We will remember them. Lest we forget"

A heartfelt congratulations and thank you to our incredible students who represented our school community during the recent ANZAC day march.

We are so proud of you all and really appreciate the time and effort that you and your families put into being at the service.

A big thank you also to the amazing staff who volunteered their time and did such a wonderful job in supporting our students.

Our student representatives gathered the following day to reflect on their experiences participating in the march. Students shared how they felt, with many stating that initially they weren't aware of the size of the crowd, but quickly settled into enjoying the experience. All students commented on the sense of pride they felt representing our school, with many hoping to experience the march again in the future.

Here are some student reflections of the march and service:

“As I walked up the steps to lay the wreath, I felt a bit nervous, because I didn’t want to fall, but I felt really special being up there”. ~ Annabel

“I saw my Mum in the crowd and could hear so many people clapping whilst we marched.” ~ Ned

“There were so many people there watching and clapping as we marched by, it felt amazing to be apart of it” ~ Pearl

“I felt really proud to represent our school” ~ Riley

The spirit and heart of Delacombe Primary School is such a special part of who we are.
