House News-Aquila

Welcome back to Term 2!

I hope everyone’s had a relaxing and enjoyable break, coming back refreshed and ready for the new term. Aquila has been busy so far this year, as mentioned below by our Aquila House Captains, Alana and Vaughan, but we are ready to continue participating and engaging within the school community this term.

We congratulate the following students on their appointment to the Student Representative Council (SRC), who will meet throughout the year to discuss important issues and be the student voice to provide feedback on ways to improve our school.

Year 7 - Garry Brar

Year 8 - Sebastian Castro

Year 9 - Nathaniel Monforte

Year 10 - Aura Pen

Year 11 - Dewmanthi Perera

Year 12 - Anchal Bhanot

Hello everyone, we are the Aquila House Captains for 2023, Vaughan Azzopardi and Alana Tran. As leaders of Aquila, we are extremely proud of our House and what we as a community have achieved over the past term. We believe that Aquila performed with outstanding house spirit and overall enjoyment at the House Aquatics Carnival and Athletics Carnival. Although we did not place first, we hold our third and fourth places respectively, with honour!

The Aquila SRC have done an amazing job so far with their introduction of the Easter Egg Hunt as a fundraising activity, which was very successful and fun for everyone involved. In the future, we as Captains aim to continue building upon the momentum Aquilla has built up over Term 1, with the inclusion of more fundraisers, especially with Founders' Day coming up, and participation in the upcoming House events such as House Cross Country and the Inter House Volleyball Competition.

For us, being in Aquilla means being in an environment which promotes inclusivity and encourages students to try and achieve their best. We aim to create a space like that by encouraging students to participate in school activities and events and by promoting House spirit.

Overall term 1 has been a great Term for Aquilla House and we hope to continue that trend for the rest of the year.

Remember, Aquila’s the best, don’t listen to the rest! GO AQUILA!
