Primary Community News

 Foundation (Prep-Year 2)

This term 1/2B has been learning to be safe on the play ground through our PBIS lessons. They have been practicing, taking turns on the slide, swing, and outdoor areas. Students have learnt who to ask for help from during recess and lunchtime. Inside the classroom we are beginning to have discussions around Community Helpers, and students are excited for our Role Play area where they get to choose who they want to be. In Numeracy we have been exploring counting objects, including ordering numbers to create firetruck photographs. We are looking forward to finding out what students want to be when they grow up!

Lower Primary (Years 3-4)

Our students developed an understanding of how to recognise their own needs and wants through the problem-solution learning activities. The cohort of students in grades 3/4 enjoyed working on their narrative writing task. They created drawings that illustrated their experiences on the Shipwreck Day activity. They then discussed their sketches before starting to write their sentences. Our children also found the numeracy activities to be very engaging as they were practical and hands-on.

Upper Primary (Years 5-6)

Upper Primary students had a wonderful camp experience at Lady Northcote Discovery Camp and School Camp. Students engaged in various challenging experiences that encouraged teamwork, including giant swing, canoeing, boat building and a scavenger hunt. They built new friendships and strengthened existing friendships with peers. A huge thank you to all the staff that attended camp and made the camp experience enjoyable for everyone!
