How long have you been helping at Jackson? I have been on Council for 7 years! And I organise both the Mother’s Day and Father’s Day stalls for the last 7 years too!
What is your connection with Jackson?I am the Chaperone on the Caroline Springs bus. My daughter Brydee attends Jackson and is currently in Year 12
Likes & Interests:I love cooking and Cake decorating. I love helping the kids at school because they are just so much fun and they deserve all they can achieve.
Dislikes:Being Disorganised
Favourite Sport:I follow Richmond Tigers AFL but don’t really watch it.
Favourite Music:I love Retro, Rock n’ Roll and Michael Buble

How long have you been helping at Jackson? I have been working with Jackson for 15 years in my role as the Student Support Services Team Leader for the Keilor-St Albans Network of Schools.
Where are you from?I was born in Glenelg in South Australia. I now live in Mount Mercer.
Likes & Interests:My cows and my chooks!
Dislikes:Small minded people.
Favourite Sport:Not a favourite sport... but I love camping.
Favourite Music:Country and Western. John Williamson.

How long have you been helping at Jackson?9 Years as a carer and community member. Valerie is in Year 8.
Where are you from?Korumburra in Vic.  Lived in St. Albans for 50+ years.
Likes & Interests:Collingwood especially when they beat Essendon.  Travelling especially Europe Asia and USA to visit family there.
Dislikes:Loosing to Essendon and any other loses.
Favourite Sport:Cricket, Football - I am a great armchair expert!
Favourite Music:Neil Diamond, Queen, Beatles, Abba and of course John Farnham

 

Office bearers are elected by school council members at the first council meeting after the declaration of the election poll. Office bearers hold office until they resign as an office bearer or until they cease to hold office as a council member or until the next election of office bearers, whichever occurs first. Office bearers serve a one-year term of office. 

 

School councils must include these positions:

  • President: parent member (non-Department employee) or community member who is chairperson of school council meetings
  • Executive Officer: the Principal (returning officer)

Other positions may include:

  • Vice president: parent member (non-Department employee) or community member.
  • Treasurer: elected from council members, preferably a parent member or community member.
