Years F/1

Welcome back for term 2! It has been great being back at school after the students having a relaxing and exciting holidays. It was so much fun hearing about what some of them got up to over the holidays. They have done a fantastic job settling back in after the holidays and they have been working really hard.

We have read a couple of different stories about Anzac Day. One of the stories we read was called Anzac Ted. After reading the story they were given a picture of a teddy and the students had to dress it up in a uniform. It was great to see all students taking their time and adding great detail to the teddy.

In maths this week the preps have started to look at the numbers 11-20. We have bee practicing counting collections and writing the number. We have had a go at writing the numbers in order from 11-20. The students are amazing at verbally counting and they love the challenge when they have to start at different starting points.

The grade 1's have worked on numbers before and after to 50 and they have been counting collections and identfying how many tens and ones there are. They have been working super hard and it has been great to see their confidence growing with numbers.

We welcomed Imogen Thomas for work experience this Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The students were very excited to have a new helper in class.  We hope you enjoyed your week Imogen.
