Book Week
‘Dreaming with Eyes Wide Open’ is this year’s Children's Book Council of Australia Book Week theme and as a College we are very much looking forward to celebrating all that comes with this week of fun.
From a visiting author on Monday 22 August organised by our amazing Library staff, to the famous Book Week Door Display where students and their teachers are responsible for decorating their doors highlighting the Book Week theme in all its glory. There will also be lunchtime events and in class activities all centred around celebrating books and reading. It really is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the joy, adventure, comfort, delight and insight that books bring to our lives.
On Thursday 25 August we will hold our Book Week Parade with time spent with the secondary classes cheering them on as they showcase their costumes before the Primary students head to the Cahill Centre for their own parade. A broadcast went home last week informing parents of this but below are some dot point reminders.
- Primary Book Week Parade is Thursday 25 August at 9:50am in the Cahill Centre.
- Students are permitted to wear their costumes to school and remain in them for the day, but if they choose not to dress up as a book character, full College sports uniform must be worn.
- Students are encouraged to bring the book linked to the costume worn.
- Parents are warmly invited to attend, sitting on the mezzanine level of the College Hall, but reminded about COVID protocols around social distancing.
