Deputy Principal's
Report - Years 7, 9, 11
Incredibly busy and rewarding!!! The Henry Kendall focus, as always, is to provide quality education in pursuit of excellence for our students. I have seen incredible evidence of this support culture in the past nine weeks; between students, staff, and our parent community we have worked together to continue positive learning environments and outcomes for our school community – thank you!!
Looking forward to Term 4, the following is an outline of what may occur, of course subjected to Department Covid-19 guidelines:
A reminder to parents this program will hopefully be facilitated from Week 7 next term, 21 November, and will replace the students’ normal timetable for three weeks. Further updates on this program will be published very early next term.
Congratulations to Year 10 and Year 8 for their efficient follow-up and selections for their subject pathways next year. Thank you to parents for your interest and enquiries in this important process.
Henry Kendall high school is considered a school of best practice for the transition programs we have in place. Our transition program is well and truly in action with many meetings taking place to gather information on our Year 7 cohort for next Year. Mr Hoole, Year 7 Adviser for 2023, is currently planning for a way forward, for next term, to meet Year 6 and get to know them before next year. Orientation Day this year is Tuesday 29th November. Further information on this will be shared early Term 4.
The HSC examinations commence on Wednesday 12 October. Please be sure to keep checking the Henry Kendall and Year 12 Face book page, the Year 12 MS Teams site and NESA Students Online for updated information.
Writing this newsletter today is tinged with mixed emotions for me. Next term, I have been appointed as Relieving Principal of Kariong Mountains High School, an appointment that I am extremely excited for and a valuable opportunity for me to work with another school community.
As a result, though, I will be leaving Henry Kendall High School for the term which is not easy to do. I have been privileged to work as the Deputy for eleven years, alongside an incredible student body, parent community and passionate staff. I would like to thank the school community for your support of myself in this role. Gareth Wright has been appointed as the Relieving Deputy for Term 4 – I know the position is being left in very capable hands.
Best wishes to our students and staff – enjoy a well earned rest and relaxation 😊
