RUOK Day

On Thursday 8 September our school celebrated RUOK Day. This year’s theme was “Ask RUOK. No qualifications needed.”

Our Student Wellbeing Team did a fantastic job raising awareness of this issue at our Celebration Assembly and coordinating wonderful activities for the students to enjoy at recess. The activities included a free hot chocolate giveaway, RUOK day cupcakes for sale, live music, face painting and a photo booth.

The event was a great success, and it was wonderful to see the school community coming together in such a supportive atmosphere.

Thank-you to Mr Walters, Mrs Gillard, Mrs McTeigue and Mrs Ofahengaue for their support in providing the music and cupcakes on the day.

Wear It Purple Day

Thank you to the Student Diversity Team for facilitating Wear It Purple Day. So much fun was had by our school community which included a very competitive cake decorating competition!!

Resilience in Our Teens

During weeks 6 - 8, students from Year 7 to 11 participated in the Resilience in our Teens student workshops. Facilitated by Miss Perkins, Miss Fitzgerald and Year Advisers, students learnt about stress and anxiety in their everyday lives. The workshops were centred around the following:

  • I feel anxious, what does that mean?
  • Brain hacks
  • Understanding how to manage our brain
  • Bypassing the amygdala
  • Challenging my thoughts

Each full day workshop was engaging, hands-on and provided students with the opportunity to challenge their own emotions and create supportive strategies so they can work toward becoming their own emotional coaches.

Free parent webinars are now available for our first 100 parents and carers. Please check your emails for additional information.

We look forward to planning the next phase of Resilience in our Teens for 2023.
