Students in Year 10 attended the bstreetsmart excursion at Qudos Bank Arena, Homebush.
bstreetsmart is the inspiring initiative of the Trauma Service at Westmead Hospital.
Westmead’s Trauma Service is constantly reminded through their hands on work that young people aged between 15–30 are disproportionally represented in road trauma. As a result they have a strong commitment to Road Safety Education.
The purpose of bstreetsmart is to reduce the fatality and injury rates of young people by promoting safe behaviour as drivers, riders and passengers. Students had a fantastic day as they were then able to come back into the classroom to discuss their experiences as they transition into Year 11.

Students in the Year 11 PDHPE class undertook their First Aid Certificate. Students learnt about how to give CPR in an emergency as well as how to manage various illnesses and medical conditions. Knowing how to provide First Aid in an emergency is such an important skill for all students, so it was great to see them receive their certificates.
A huge thanks to Ian from Armoured Health for providing the course.

Finally, we would like to wish the students in Year 12 PDHPE and Year 12 CAFS all the very best in their HSC exam next term. Completing the Stage 6 course in PDHPE and CAFS is a fantastic achievement and the students have applied themselves diligently and with purpose.
As a faculty we know the students will work hard up until their HSC exam and we look forward to sharing in their success at the end of Term 4.
