Principal's Message

Dear parents, students and the wider community,

Thanks to Mrs Lacey who organised with our student Our House Spirit team to have a day together in our teams last Friday. One of the strengths of our school is to have senior students organising activities for the younger students and doing their best to be positive role models. Well done to our senior leaders on their efforts.

This is our first third term all at school since 2019 and, at times, this has been challenging as we have built up our stamina and resilience throughout a term where we had frequent absences due to illness. Thanks to our families who made every effort to have the kids at school every day that you could.

As part of our focus on academic, social and emotional, physical and spiritual learning it has been a tremendous term extra-curricularly. On top of this we have had other more community - minded activities.   I have been back through the calendar and we managed to squeeze in all of these events:-

  • Dance classes and a wonderful performance evening
  • Georgina Manning's Parent Information Night
  • Eucharistic Celebrations for some of our Year 4's
  • Neighbourhood Earth Space excursion for the Year 5/6 students
  • Senior sport against our local cluster culminating in a lightning premiership at Kananook PS
  • St Anne's Feast Day celebrating Grandparents
  • Zoo excursion for the Year 3/4 students
  • Scholastic Book Fair
  • Book Parade and Day
  • Fathers' Day Stall
  • Fathers' Day Morning Tea
  • Marine Ambassadors excursion for some of our Year 6 Leaders
  • Foundation 2023 Information evening
  • Footy Day (tomorrow)

Thank you to all staff, students and families that contributed in any way to the success of all of these varied activities. On reflection, I think we can all be proud of what has been achieved.

First week back we have some of our students from Years 3-6 competing at the Division Athletics on Tuesday 4th October, the Foundation 2023 Super Starters Hour on Friday 7th October and the long awaited St Anne's Trivia Night on Saturday 8th October.

Some of our Year 6 students continue their preparations to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation on Sunday 23rd October. Please find time to keep them and their families in your prayers.

We thank you Lord, for this term.

For the challenges, the successes, and the mistakes from which we have learnt.

Be with us as we spend our time with family and friends.

Give us strength and courage to do what is right; to be witnesses of our faith.

Help us to be a practical Christian these holidays, to appreciate what others do for us, to give time and effort to help others, to be peacemakers in our family.

Keep us safe in our activities; give us good rest and good fun.

Bring us back refreshed and ready for a new term.

We thank you for our classmates, teachers, parents and a community that cares for us. May we always be conscious of you in our lives.

Amen

God Bless and stay well over the next two weeks
