Term Two Climate Survey Results

Overall Summary

The purpose of this short survey was to understand what the general level of satisfaction within the School Community currently is (as at the end of term 2 /2022) What we are doing well, and where we can improve.

The survey is a general check-in as to what the overall feeling is around the school.

If you don’t feel your view has been represented, as always we encourage you to participate in the next one. It is only 4 questions and takes around 10 mins. I will aim to do one at the end of each term.

Results

Overall we had around 18% of the school community participate in the survey.  This is the third time this survey has been completed and given the declining participation with each one. We hope that this means the community is generally feeling like their views are expressed or that they feel the communication has already been expressed directly or via other avenues. There are some great ideas that come through on the survey and some very heartening & positive comments. Thank you to those who participated!

Again the general comment is that this relatively low number of 11 surveys completed is only an indication of the general sentiment - the raw data isn’t statistically significant to be extrapolated to the whole school.

Results below

Q1: How generally satisfied are you with St Joseph's?

100% (45/55) were either satisfied /or extremely satisfied with the school in general.

Albeit a small sample size, this is the first time we’ve had 100% of respondents sit in these top two scores. I feel very proud of the work we have done to focus on areas for improvement and hope this trend is continued.

Q2: What do parents and carers think is working well?

This was a qualitative question (the same person might have provided multiple answers and the level of importance of each could differ by respondent).  For the purpose of understanding the key themes, they have been grouped based on similarities.  For example, only 1 person mentioned class structures – this doesn’t mean that it's not important to all who answered – it was an open-ended question, and only one person happened to mention it. More value can be placed on where similar themes are reoccurring in this instance – like good communication and happy engaged kids.

Q3: How can we improve?

More detail is provided in these groupings to capture the breadth of answers.

Q4: Overall what do you hold as most important about being at St Joseph’s?
