Level 5/6

Level 5 and 6 News

The last few weeks have seen the Level 5 and 6 students undertake the challenge of developing their own business as a part of our inquiry unit ‘Market Mayhem.’ They have worked either individually or in pairs to develop an idea for a product or products that could potentially be sold as a part of the Rangeview Fair in Term 4. They started by developing their ideas then conducted their own market research which involved creating their own surveys that were conducted within the school community. Students then began to sort and analyse their results in order to create their own market plans. There have been some amazing discussions happening within our classes and the students are taking on this challenge with such enthusiasm and energy. We are so proud of their efforts so far and are looking forward to seeing the marketing and product development continue over the next few weeks.

We have started working on writing news reports this Term and the students have put their research skills to the test to write their own articles based on a Commonwealth Games athlete of their choice. They have been researching information and have focussed on highlighted key words to ensure they are able to convey their messages in original and interest sentences. We will shift our focus from written news to oral reports over the next few weeks where students will be given the opportunity to create their own news presentations for the class.

Book Week dress up day was another highlight for our students who thoroughly enjoyed dressing up as their favourite characters and spending some extra time with their buddies working on Book Week activities. It is always so great to see everyone get involved and we thank our students and their parents for the extra effort involved in getting ready for the day.
