District Athletics 

Preparations all done, the weather perfect for competition and the students looking the part in their BPS sports uniform, our 67-team athletics squad headed out for Duncan McKinnon to compete in the district athletics this week.

With grade 4, 5 and 6 involved, the whole range of experience was on display with many of the grade 4’s representing BPS for the first time and many grade 6 students, with a hint of nostalgia, representing BPS for the last time before graduating to high school. 

The older students were to be commended on their leadership, support and encouragement of the younger members of the team and everyone got up to speed very quickly on how the carnival worked as they were all doing it for the first time due to covid.

The competition is 2-fold with the students competing on a school level to win the district shield and on an individual basis to progress to the next level. Congratulations to the students who placed either first or second in their event (names below) and who now progress to the division finals on Friday 7th October, we wish them well. But it is important to acknowledge the effort and determination across the whole squad to represent BPS in the best possible sporting manner and to share in the accomplishment of finishing 4th overall with Beaumaris North PS, the overall winners.
