Book Week 2022

What an amazing buzz around ‘Dreaming with Eyes Open’ Book Week in 2022. Many students and staff dressed-up as a book character; there was a book swap stall; elaborate book displays; and author visit by Danielle Binks for year 7s.

Four students were selected to meet Ms Binks and ask her to sign the Library’s copies of her books.  Two competitions ran each lunchtime for the whole week, ‘mystery readers’ (staff) hid around the Campus reading. Students took great delight in finding them and asking which book they were reading. Meanwhile inside the Library students were busy finding books with googly eyes on the cover, then unravelling the clues for the anagram of the day.

Congratulations to our prize winners, who have been contacted by email. Please come to the Library to collect your prize.

Googly Eye Anagram:

                1st Hazel C in Year 8

                2nd Michael S in Year 7

                3rd Lola R in Year 8

Mystery Reader:

                1st Timothy K in Year 9

                2nd Amilia N in Year 10

                3rd Anne H in Year 9

It is the goodwill and enthusiasm of students and staff at EDSC that make these events successful. It demonstrates a strong reading culture that we can all be proud of.
