Manningham Council Business Breakfast
A small group of Year 12 Economics students had the opportunity to attend a Business Breakfast at the Manningham Council where they enjoyed a full breakfast, but more importantly, they had the privilege of listening to David Robertson Head of Financial Markets, Bendigo & Adelaide Bank. David spoke about his insights on interest rates, house prices, business confidence and how international politics will impact the Australian economy. Despite the very early start at 7am, the students' enjoyed the experience and gained a greater understanding of how Economics impacts their daily lives.

Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA)
On the 5th and 6th of May I was fortunate enough to participate in a program called Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA).
MUNA is where teams of two (or in my case one) from different schools represent different countries of the United Nations (in my case Cuba), and come together at Victorian Parliament House on a weekend to debate a set of resolutions on global issues. It was a fantastic opportunity, particularly due to all of the people that were involved and just to be able to debate and persuade in a different context to that which we do in school. Though it was a long weekend, the atmosphere, people, and costumes brought a really amazing energy, which reflected in the plentiful moments of humour.
I'm very grateful for the experience and wish to thank the efforts of the Rotarians, especially of Doncaster Rotary who sponsored me, as well as Ms Dulger and Mr Siassios for making it happen.
