Our 2020 Fete

Our biennial Fete is totally volunteer driven and comprises the collective efforts of our families to enrich school spirit and raise funds. No experience is required and in addition to a comprehensive checklist, there are many past fete volunteers on hand to point incoming committee members in the right direction.

We invite you to come along to an information evening on Tuesday 28 May (7.30 – 8.30pm, Staffroom) to find out what’s involved. Please CLICK/TAP HERE if you are interested in a role, want to know how to be involved or want to find out more.

The Resilience Project Parent Information - 4 June

We strongly encourage all families to hear Hugh van Cuylenburg speak on Tuesday 4 June (7 - 8.30pm, Senior Learning Centre). Hugh last presented at BNPS back in 2017 (Martin Heppell spoke last year).

If you haven't heard Hugh speak or if only one parent in your family has heard Hugh speak, make sure you book now so that everyone has the same message! No doubt Hugh will also have some new stories to share for those who would like to hear him speak again.

At just $5 per family (available on Qkr > School Events), it's an opportunity not to be missed and supports your child and our whole-school wellbeing program.

The Resilience Project have delivered programs to over 500 schools around the country and worked with many elite sporting teams including the Australian cricket, netball and soccer teams, NRL and AFL clubs.

Earn & Learn Stickers

BNPS is participating in the Woolworths Earn & Learn Program, so if you shop at Woolworths, please collect stickers to help us earn new Mathematics and Literacy resources for our school! Don’t forget to ask your friends, neighbours and relatives if they can collect for us too!

Simply pop the stickers in the ‘BNPS’ collection box in store (Southland, Mentone, Highett, Black Rock, Hampton, Thrift Park and Moorabbin) or in the box in the BNPS foyer.

A BIG thank you to Bec Tsiboukis, Bora Lee, Victoria Hind, Brett Anderson and Irena Peoples for answering our call to empty our collection boxes - we are now just after one more volunteer for Hampton. Please CLICK/TAP HERE if you are able to help.

Thanks for your support and happy collecting!

Premiers' Reading Challenge

Parents from Years 3 - 6 should have received a letter with their child’s login details for the Premiers' Reading Challenge (PRC). Please encourage your child to read at home and login regularly and record their books.

Children need to read 15 books in total; 10 from the PRC list and 5 of their own choice OR 15 from PRC list. Books read during school time by the classroom teacher to the class can also be included. Children can record any suitable books they have read since the 1 of January this year.

Please Note: There is NO honour roll this year, so parents don’t need to send permission forms back to school as they did in previous years.

There are colour coded stickers on books suitable for particular year levels and asterisks on PRC titles on Library computer system.

After the required number of titles have been verified by the classroom teacher, students will be eligible for a Premiers' Reading Challenge certificate at the end of the year.  Happy Reading!
