Students Taking Action

Blanket & Winter Coat Drive

Lachie B (5C) and Mackenzie B (3D) recently wrote to Mrs Duffy regarding a blanket and winter coat drive that their family is organising for Mums Supporting Families In Need (MSFIN) and South East Community Links (SECL). MSFIN & SECL deliver a wide range of assistance to families in need, including those who have fled their homes due to family violence.

We would like to support this wonderful initiative by asking families to bring in any blankets, winter coats, warm jumpers and bed linen (no pillows) that they are able to donate. Please note that all items must be in decent condition (no holes etc.).

DROP-OFF DAY: After school on Friday 24 May.

DROP-OFF LOCATION: Undercover Assembly area.

If you have any queries, please contact Natalie (Lachie & Mackenzie's Mum) on 0407 404 607 and thank you in advance for your generous support.

Well done Lachie and Mackenzie!

Ada S & Maddie T - 2A

Maddie and Ada were inquirers and showed enthusiasm for our new Unit of Inquiry 'Forces change the way things move' by taking action by writing down and sharing all the things that moved around the school!

Well done girls!

Student Voice - Essential Agreement

Our Student Voice Team are currently assisting with the development of a new Essential Agreement on playground behaviour and practices. They have been interviewing teachers on yard duty to gain feedback on their thoughts for the new agreement.

Our Essential Agreement is an agreement drawn up between staff and students on what we value and demonstrate at BNPS to ensure that the learning, safety and rights of all are respected. Everyone works collaboratively to develop shared expectations (rather than teachers imposing rules!).

Y5 Robotics Group

On Saturday (11 May) at the Beaumaris Farmers Market, we did a demo of our spheros and robots and ran a raffle. Thank you for all your support. 17 students volunteered. A special thank you to Louisa (parent), Sienna N (5A) and Anique N (3D) for helping the whole day.

We made a grand total of $800 so we can buy a new Robotics Kit.

The winner of the raffle was Helen T from Mordialloc.

Our PLAY Leader Program

The PLAY Leaders are enjoying interacting with the students while playing the games they have prepared. So far it has been a great success and we hope to see more kids getting involved, so we can continue to help the younger students (Prep - Year 2) at BNPS build new friendships while enjoying fun games. The PLAY Leaders come together on a Friday at lunch, under Sherril’s Shed.
