Year 9 experience

Our Year 9s and teachers Anthony, Kat and Emily arrived safely in Darwin at lunchtime yesterday (Tuesday). Their itinerary over the next nine days includes visiting Florence Falls, the Litchfield Wangi Falls and Buley Rockholes, camping at the Barunga music festival, dipping in the hot springs en route to Katherine where they will take a dawn cruise in the Katherine Gorge, on to Ubirr Rock, Anbinik Kakadu Resort where they will cruise the wetlands at dawn to see the crocodiles and finally on the way back to Darwin they can swim in the beautiful Berry Springs and visit the Mindil Beach night market, then boarding the plane for home on Friday 15 June. We look forward to reading all about their experiences in the Top End in our next newsletter.

Onesie day: the first day of winter

Onesie: a loose-fitting one-piece leisure garment covering the torso and legs.

Students and staff alike welcomed winter on Friday 1 June in 'onesie style' and enjoyed a lunchtime feast of tasty treats.

School photos

Compass photos were distributed through Home Group for Years 7-10 last week; Years 11 and 12 students can collect their orders when signing in and out through the office. Please contact jan.pietsch@preshil.vic.edu.au if you have any queries.

Keeping students' belongings safe

Laptops, devices, mobile phones, calculators and expensive text books should not be stored in individual lockers without the security of a padlock, preferably a combination lock. Students are reminded to be vigilant about securing their belongings whilst at school.

John has a new bike

I'd like to extend a big heartfelt electronic newsletter-style cuddle to the amazing staff of Preshil who passed the hat around when my bike got stolen during a city excursion a few weeks ago. I put their contribution to good use and bought myself a new bike, which is now happily making the commute from Brunswick to Kew.  What a privilege to be working with such a wonderful bunch of caring, generous people. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Queen's birthday public holiday next Monday - enjoy the beauty of this time of year.
